The car being lifted off the floor.  Stands were place under the chassis to keep the springs and axle free from obstruction.

All connections were released.  This encompasses the  propeller shaft, brake cables and one-shot system pipework.

A detailed picture, taken through the nearside rear wheel arch, showing the brake levers and Bujur pipe that feeds across the top of the axle.

The axle 'U' bolts were removed, followed by the spring rear shackle pins.  The axle was then lifted away from the car.  Note the axle locating lugs on the top of each spring.

If only all axles were so clean!
