Floorboards and gear box removed

So what happened to all of the pictures showing the gearbox removal?

Well, this job was originally intended as a clutch replacement but, as explained at the opening of the diary, the block became incontinent.  The focus of work changed from the relatively minor to the "Oh my God!" expensive.

This shows the floorboards removed and a big hole where the gearbox used to be.

Flywheel - stripped

End-on view of the flywheel.  The inner disc that holds the wearing face has already been removed.  'X' marks the spot for aligning the parts.

Disconnected brakes

Foot and hand brake rods have been disconnected.  The odd-looking parts attached to the rear handbrake bracket form part of the micro-switch mechanism that protects the overdrive selection.
