R-R PIII - fan adjustment locking plate After installing the fan and adjusting the fan belt the the adjustment bolt is secured with the locking plate shown at 'P'.  The hexagonal hole fits around the bolt head and the arms are held by the studs of the HT lead tubes.

The starting handle support is shown at 'H'.  Make sure that the sliding collar lines up with the dog in the centre of the pulley - its frame is easily distorted.

The stand pipes, 'P', are for filling the shock absorbers.  They cannot be fitted until the exhaust is in place, at least on this engine, as there is only about 1/4" between the two.  It was necessary to remove one of the mounting studs to fit the off side stand pipe.  Likewise, it would be almost impossible to fit the pipes after the radiator has been installed.
